The Diploma of Christian Ministries (Chaplaincy Option) is a nationally accredited qualification that will equip you to provide a high standard of care in a range of areas within chaplaincy.

As part of their training, students undertake a chaplaincy placement in an area of their choice in areas as diverse as prisons, schools, hospitals and aged care facilities.

Diploma of Christian Ministries (Chaplaincy Option)

As  the world struggles to cope with the pressures of change, our Chaplains are accepted in every area of our society and they stand in a unique position to offer hope and support. The structure of the Chaplaincy training has a practical component that equips the student for real life application and an immediate impact on their community.

The Chaplaincy award consists of eight papers and is accredited through NZQA as the Diploma in Christian Ministries - Level 5. it includes the following core Christian Studies papers:

Writings of the New Testament

Narrative of the First Testament

Understanding the Faith

Communicating the Gospel

It also includes a range of topics including Foundations of Chaplaincy, Suffering and Spiritual Distress, Loss and Grief, and Crisis intervention. The Chaplaincy Units are taught in four three day intensives augmented by on line study through or e-learning platform.
